Most effective positions to put ads on my forum.

I'am in the process of launching a new phpbb forum. I thought of the following as ad placements. Please share your thoughts on getting the most from the ads.

Ad positions:
1. Banner ad below the header (before the main forum starts).
2. Text ad unit at the bottom of the forum.
3. Link unit ad after each first post of a topic (like you see on dp)

Would this be a good layout? If any changes, what and why?

Other areas to place ads on the forum is also welcome.

You can use some banner ad between the first and the second post.
A lot of forums do that (DP included) so it should works after all

 

sounds good to me...but its better for a visual review to see colors and stuff...

Blend some ads with content that is put some ad unit after posts

 

First make your site and then it will be easy to suggest.

 

if you want to earn more from adsense , add one ads unit and one link unit. dont add the seond ads unit
