Most Effective Free Method of Traffic Generation

Which of the following free methods brings in the most traffic?

-article writing
-forum posting
-blog commenting

If you put an equal amount of time into each one, which would generate the most traffic on average?

How much traffic do you get from each one per hour of labor?

 

I think article writing brings in the most traffic, which is also the most targeted, valuable traffic. However, it's also the most labor intensive. I don't keep track of how many hours spent working vs. traffic gained, I just try and produce quality work and the traffic will take care of itself.

 

i voted the article writing because it gives you traffic and also increase your page rank significantly.

 

Were do you post your article? I mean on the site which you want to increase the traffic ?

Isn't it like the egg and chicken? If you want to be read, people need to know about your site etc...

Is it google which puts you higher on the list? and consequently the increased hits ?

 

Forum posting sure brings the fastest traffic, but not the most traffic.

I agree with article writing. If you write a good article and submit to article websites and news sharing websites, you will see a spike in traffic.

 

It really depends on the content delivered

If you have posted / wrote an excellent post / article, traffic will build up.

 

i do agree on article marketing however, for those who can't afford to write any article or hire a ghostwriter it quite a problem for them.

For me, im prefer video and social marketing.

I would say that they hold equal weight. But with articles it can get published and republished and can bring in thousands of visitors

 

It really depends on how much effort you put in each...

If you write awesome articles and syndicate them to the right sources, then article marketing has the potential to blow away everything else -- except for paid advertising (on the supposition that you have unlimited advertising dollars)...

If you do your article marketing badly, then forum posting will be more effective than blog commenting... But both have the potential of bringing a lot of traffic to your websites...

Also don't forget about press releases, submitting to link directories, guest blogging, and the multitude of other Traffic Generation Methods...

For the free methods, article marketing when done well has proven extremely effective for me... But not everyone can do as well, and some can do much better than I can...

I definitely think article writing is the best...if you know how to properly utilize the method.

 

Wouldn't it depend on what you're good at? If you've become adept at short but informative forum posts, then that might work better for you than article writing.

Another way to look at it is that article writing is pretty time intensive for most of us, so if you could respond to hundreds of forum or blog posts in the time it takes you to write a single article (and maybe badly at that), your posting traffic could easily surpass your article traffic.

 

I would say blog commenting is the most effective free method, since the amount of effort is usually minimal, as opposed to article submission, but then the search engines will reward you more for the later than the former
