The saddest movie, or the movie that I was most depressed by after watching it? These are two different things. The saddest movies I have seen are Million Dollar Baby and Mystic River. Both movies were brilliantly made and well acted, but I will never ever, ever have the desire to watch either of them again. Once was enough to make me sad for days after watching. However, the movies I was most depressed about seeing were any of the "Fill in the Blank" Movies like Scary Movie or Epic Movie. Those were all a horrible waste of time and money.
The most depressing for me would be "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Hated the character's psych. So insane. A pathological liar, a murderer, evil.
I think the title was called Ocean Something (sorry can't remember). It' s supposedly based on a true story about tourists being left by a boat accidentally then being eaten by sharks. It was very low budget, but really hooked you into the story line and it was just the crappiest ending I've ever seen in a movie! You literally wanted to just throw stuff at the TV and scream. I guess I should have known when my daughter said at the theater they were telling people before they saw the show that they would not refund their money after the show.
I have seen lots of movies yet cant seem to think of many really depressing movies - bcos i tend to think of the story from the characters or producers point of view to work out what they are trying to really say. Sometimes the meaning of the movie is not always evident but requires deeper thinking and i like to try to remember movies for the good not the depressing parts? How about: - Philadelphia with Tom hanks and Denzel Washington was pretty sad - Schindler's List with Liam Neeson was also very sad too - Hotel Rawanda was depressing Sad is different from depressing too i think, alot of movies has sad parts to the story but overall are not depressing Anything about the loss of of life on a big scale in a situation where others have the ability to step in but they dont is very depressing
Well..Requiem for a dream..and all those "sweet-november" movies. btw, watched "7 lives" not so long ago. Have never seen a worse depressive movie.. Will Smith looks like a homeless puppy...don't watch it.
My top three most depressing movies: (In no particular order) * Schindler's List - 1993 * Hotaru no haka - 1988 (Grave of the Fireflies) *Taegukgi hwinalrimyeo - 2004 (Brotherhood)
depressing movie for me is The Haunted...When I see it I thought it has great script and effects but it turned out to become sloppy and poor script ...
