    The best CTR (all things being equal like placement, relevance, etc.) go to those the most "niche", as in people really and truley interested in what they're reading.

    I agree, also non tech topics, things that no tech and internet savy people would look for also have high CTR rates.

    Also, try to use the maximum number of adsense ads allowed on a page. i.e. 1 link unit, 3 ad units, 2 search boxes.

    The more niche the topic the more likely it is to match an exact need of a searcher.

    If you're talking Adwords rather than Adsense, then the secret is to:

    1. Copy test
    2. Include negative keywords
