Hello. During the last couple of weeks I have been working on a new site based on a TV series. It is a fan site. I have some content written so I decided maybe it was a good start to use adwords. When I try to set up a campaign, of course I want to use the name of the series as a keyword. So for example I try the following keywords: prison break tv series prison break episodes prison break characters etc etc Note that when I was writing the content of my site I had some basic SEO in mind. So I can assure you that the title is mentioned enough times in the text (not too much). (1) The strange thing is that adwords ask me for $0.50 for prison break tv series!!! My site is all about that! What could be more relevant? So is google asking so much? (2) When I use the keyword tool, it suggests some irrelevant keywords as the most common ones. Why? seem like $0.50 is the minimum bid. and its a popular keyword you are bidding on. best way is to use wordtracker, to build a good keyword list, and import into adword.
it could be that other people are bidding on it. 50 cents a click is really not that much. I have words that would cost me over a dollar a click cuz of competition. But given the margin, I suspect all the bidders are losing money on that word.
Thank you both for the replies. The thing is that the tv series i am working with is not popular. Even when I use Google Keyword tool, it tells me that the competition (and searching) is low, so it is not possible that many people are bidding on this. Also as I pointed in my first post, when I use the google keyword tool to tell me which keywords are most commonly used in my site, it comes up with some irrelevant ones, instead of my main keywords!!! Yeah adwords I didn't really like. I was paying them to get people to my site and after a month or two I have this whooping bill with harldy any sales from adwords. My traffic just came from random search engines. The google keyword tool I don't recommend. You just type a keyword in and it gives you all these random ones.
