Another year has brought yet another Top 10 list of the most annoying happenings in Internet Marketing for 2007. Do you agree, have we missed something? 10. Social Networking - not because it won't eventually be important, but for the attempts in 2006 to harness it for IM 9. Worst, Most Over-Used Headline "Who Else Wants To..." 8. Crappy Butterfly Marketing Sites. This is not a statement about the product BM, but rather how many marketers used it in 2006 7. Guru's Who Won't Open Their Kimono -- instead of telling us what worked 6-months ago, how about a guru who is brave enough to allow their customers to share in real-time testing results similar to Terry Dean's early Netbreakthrough's days. 6. Mindless, Frequent Emails. Now instead of 1 crappy email a week, we get 7 - can you say DELETE. 5. Podcasts That Suck - On the positive side, there was a good weeding out of terrible podcasts in 2006, 2007 looks better. 4. The 60+ minute Teleseminar - please, have a point and get to it! 3. Video Explosion - But Where's the How? Lots of talk about video as the next revolution in marketing, but who has a reasonably priced tutorial on how to do it professionally, or should we all outsource? 2. The Big Launch - Enough Already! 1. Leading You In the Wrong Direction. Too many tactics with even less help in creating your own quality products. Honorable Mention - Web 2.0: Nobody knows what it is - it's not a platform, it's not a technology or standard, it's not a single concept and it's not something anyone can generally agree upon - sounds like a great business to get into doesn't it.
