Most Americans are not rich and will never be. But they vote Republican believing they will get rich soon. Remember Joe the Plumber?
This guy is the typical "wanna be" rich average American.
He didn't even have a license and has been a plumber for so many years.

The rich make it look like taxes will hit the middle class and the poor where as a matter of fact taxes will hit the richest people who btw can live very well even with paying more taxes.
Instead of being able for example to buy 10 lexus cars a year now they'll be able to buy a few less.
So no much sorry and worry for the rich from me.

I am surprised that the majority of the americans are middle class, bu so many of them vote republican who don't care for them but for the rich.

Well voting republican is a lot better than the alternative. Sometimes you have to vote for the future, rather the present. IMO-anyone who votes for any party thinking they're going to get rich should just stay home election day, that's just stupid. I vote republican because I care and support the US.

All republicans say the same thing you just said "they care and support the US"..

Prove me now that what they did is/was good for America.

    LOL

Bush Sr. took office led America to a recession. GW Bush took office and ended up with a disaster for America and the world. LOL Very talented guy.

Now how much should I believe you and them that you really, really care for America?

The rich care about people and countries to the point of how much money they can make of them. The rich are money lovers, not people lovers don't you know it yet?

If I'm rich than it's news to me. Bush is unpopular, mainly due to the left wing media. It's now "cool" and "trendy" to hate the government and our leaders. That kind of thinking is stupid and may about to put an politically inexperienced celebrity into the presidential office.

You say these things about the republicans but you do not mention the Democrats? Whats up with that? If you want to talk about spending and caring mostly for the rich than that party is your thing. I have some names you may want to look up: Nancy Pelosi, Barrack Obama, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, and Hillary Clinton. You have to compare and contrast to actually start a good debate.

George Bush SR. did not put the economy into recession. He was in office when gas was still $1.20/gallon. If anything the democrats paved the way for the recession. Look up Bill Clinton's dealing with Fannie Mae and you'll see what I mean. The democrats are surely not financial angels, especially with their cut throat spending.

Republicans, during their time, upheld the the nation's standards. Kept spending minumum when possible and kept major tax increases off the backs of the public. There's tons of good things, try google, you may learn something.

As for the deal with the rich. Are you seriously trying to tell me that the rich only belong to the republican party? There are plenty of rich democrats who care only for the rich - see Obama, Ted Kennedy, Steve Jobs, and the CEO of Google (his name excapes me but there is a DP thread on it).

Politicans in general are rich, and care for the rich, so how can you truly pin all these assumptions on one party?

I'll help your debate start, Your turn ;)

This is what is so sad about all of these GOP voters (like Joe The Plumber) talking about Obama's tax raises and McCain's tax cuts. 90% of them will actually get a bigger tax cut under Obama in their real life. But the GOP has them brainwashed into thinking about this magical future where they are rich and Obama is taxing them more because they are rich. I just want to shake them. The GOP has done a very good job at getting people to vote against their own self interest. Its sad.

"Joe The Plumber" is the best example of this (which is why it's so ironic that McCain is using him as their poster child) - Joe asked Obama about his business where he makes over 250K a year but in real life he doesn't have such a business and makes only $40K a year (well he'll probably make a lot more than that now that he's a right wing celebrity but that's how much he made in his real life prior to this insanity.) Yes Joe would get a big tax cut under Obama and no tax cut under McCain. In fact a single man making $40K a year would get a $500 tax cut with Obama and a $0 tax cut with McCain.

BTW: Go to TaxCutFacts.ORG to find out what YOUR tax cut will be under an Obama administration vs. a McCain admin.

Make sure you vote on TUESDAY: Use VoteForChange.com to find your polling location.

Obama will kill the middle class. He plans to raise the self-employment tax to an income limit of $250,000. For a small businessman or average middle class person that a tax increase of $25,000.

Anyone with sense and options will leave the country before Obama's coronation.

The poor, the middle class, and the wealthy are all about to become a lot poorer.

I think there's a group rate option for DP P&R members who want to go to Honduras.

    And remember:

    No police = No crime

If things get too bad, free men can always eat bureaucrats.

They are awfully stringy, but with a crock pot you can eventually make something useful out of them.

Ah, there will always be rich as there will always be poor no matter where you go and what time of year or president you may have. Good things and bad things happen to people. It's the way life goes.

Change is better than no change at all. So I'd rather Americans consider Obama than McCain. But it's their choice. Isn't that what America is all about? Freedom.

Obama's change will make the USA more like Europe. I just don't understand those here who want to be like Europe in so many ways, but won't just move there.

Obama is for socialism. Now who here voting for Obama doesn't want socialism?

What we want is a better future for our country. That's why we are voting for Barack Obama.

All of this dumb name calling from the GOP only makes them seem desperate and frankly irrelevant. America is moving forward now, the sort of juvenile political games played by the likes of Karl Rove and the people running the McCain/Palin campaign are no longer acceptable to the majority of Americans.

Not sure if you were referring to my post, so I copied it here.

I did ask a simple question - can you answer it or is that just to hard?

Take a machete and chop off your foot. That's a big change.

By your way of thinking, where "change is better than no change at all", you should be pretty happy with one foot.

But keep going -- imagine how ecstatic you will be after you cut off your second foot!

    Wow.....

Well it seems about 4 years ago it was acceptable to say this to Democrats so I think I'll echo it :D

Perhaps if you are so frightened by an Obama presidency you should start looking at leaving? I'm sure you'll be able to find a less free and better performing economy somewhere in the world after 4 years of Obama..... I hear Germany is nice.

While we're all suffering here in the U.S. at least you can say you told us so.... Happy trails :D

I think you mean more free George, as the freedom of ordinary Americans is about to suffer from a major "downward adjustment."

After all, those of us who want freedom are merely being "selfish" and we know what the Obamessiah has to say about selfishness.

But yes, there are countries out there with more freedom than America is about to have and many of them deserve a good looking at by any human being who is interesting in living as a free human being.

In addition, with the class war on the productive classes being kicked into high gear, anyone who gives more to society than they take would be well counseled to consider moving to a country where they are treated more as honest citizens and less as cattle to be fed upon.

I'm against socialism, and I'm voting for obama, because he's not a socialist. I'm a independant, who even voted for bush's re-election last time, but I'm tired of the republican/conservatives lies, messing up everything, a endless war based on lies that took the life of a family member. Obama with bring a fresh change for the better.

Now if you have something to say feel free to do so... but don't expect me to waste my time arguing against any conservative delusions, or try to change your mind. I did enough arguing and debating already through the months with people, (and so have many others)

    Vote Obama / Biden 08!

If Obama isn't pushing socialism, what do you call it?

He even praises marxism, so are you in disagreement with Obama now?

If you were not ignorant about obama's plans you would know he is for socialism, he doesn't hide it, it isn't a secret, so why are you hiding it? Are you embarrassed?
