    Actually it states:
They emigrated to other countries to escape persecution by the Malaysian government. duh. This isn't exactly hard to read, and yet you somehow magically keep overlooking it.

You've been honest in other threads, why not just stop digging yourself into a hole here and admit that the Malaysian government is dominated by an Islamist movement which hates and persecutes Jews and Christians?

I've just 2 points i wanna clear it.

    Point 1
If i wanna learn Chinese language ?
will i ask someone from italy who speaks Italian
    or
will i ask someone from china who speaks chinese

it is the same, when i wanna ask about Christianity, i'm not going to ask
Muslim Sheikh but i will ask father in church

    Point 2
there is 2 terms of science WHAT !!

Real science means you do search for something at right place and
whatever is the results would the be the results.

Pseudoscience means you do search for something only to get the results
which is already into your mind so it also called as fake science.

Using point 1 and 2 you will find that :-

when you wanna ask for islam you, it would be totally wrong to go
asking bin-laden cause simply not every one holds qur'an in his hands means
he represent the islam ( it is the same in all religions )

cause religions doesn't not represented by human actions.

If i went to bin-laden asking him about Christianity ??
he would says OH YEA Christianity Crusade,ETA in spain, fighting world war 1,2 ...blah blah blah

i would tell him you are wrong bin-laden cause Christianity doesn't represented
by human actions cause not every one carrying a bible will represent christianity.

Using point 1 and 2 you will find that :-

as long as you wanna get the same picture of something as already into your mind, you won't
    able to know truth
cause you are searching only in dark side.

what dark side ? - do you remember the Scandal in the Vatican of homosexual
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/04/vatican-gay-sex-scandal

if someone wanna know about Christianity, do you think shall he go searching at that scandal
and thought that is the Christianity .... Indeed not cause this is human actions doesn't not always
represent what they do belive in.

    another example to clear more.
when you read Qu'ran, cause you want the same picture which is into your mind.
you will find alot of words such as fighting .. fight ... keep fighting ...

you will say OH YEA OH YEA ISLAM MEANS FIGHTING ...

no cause didn't understand fighting what and fighting for what !!! ( gimme some time here please )

fighting the The enemies of God ( Allah means God by the way, same as in dutch we say it Gott all means god in english )

Who are the enemies of god ????????
    - they are the Aggressors who do hurts people killing people with no reasons Tortures people ...ect
Are they should be none Muslims ??????
    - The answer is no .. yes the answer is no, it could be Muslims or not, and if you don't trust me search
for islamic history , there was wars between muslims and aggressors muslims too.

You still want it to be the same picture as it already into your mind and you will say
OH YEA SO WHERE ARE THE MERCY IN ISLAM....

god said "Forgives all sins" !!! So why when fighting ??
islam asked as to fighting the Aggressors who they become Despot,Tyrant,Seeking corruption in the earth
and start thinking they are gods and start fighting people...

Jihad means : you fighting anyone came to you and wants to killing you, takes your homeland, grab your honor..ect
it just like Defense about your life,land,honor.....ect

Terrorism means : you attack people trying to take away thier life,land,honor,money...ect same as did bin-laden

again when you want to ask about something go to the core of that something
islam itself does Curse Terrorism and consider it as enemies of god which we should Resist.

    thank you all.

I wonder why do some people post Videos about who converted and who don't ,,,,,,who did,did it for himself/herself and who didn't ,didn't for himself/herself. someone said does islam means terrorism, we just answer that question that is all.

Interesting post, but I have to disagree with this statement. I think the Crusades are a wonderful example of rule by Christianity.

You read wrong. The Wiki article clearly states that they left "due to rising anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic feelings" which were prevalent in Malaysia during the 1970s. I do not deny that this (and still does) exist (due to the events surrounding Six Day War and the Palestinian insurgency after that. Malaysia has never denied its open support for the Palestinian cause). This does not equal to Jews "escap[ing] persecution by the Malaysian government", just because anti-Israeli sentiments were on the rise at the time. Any organised form of "persecution" or "pogrom" never took place at all as there was never a significant Jewish population here.

Do you know how funny (and ignorant) you sound when you try to preach Malaysian history to me and get it all wrong in the process? Currently Malaysia is ruled by a grand coalition of various race-based (from various religions) parties called the Barisan Nasional. There are Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and even animists making up the coalition and ruling this country. There are no Jews in the coalition because there never was any to begin with. Far from being an "Islamist movement", the Barisan Nasional has no religious roots attached to it.

Why don't you go to a bookstore at Orchard Road, get a few titles on Malaysian history and read up a little? Perhaps that would educate you a bit more on Malaysian history and reduce the rather obtuse, ignorant behaviour that you are displaying right now. I'll bet every Malaysian kid under the age of ten reading your statement about (the non-existent "persecution") of Jews and Christians are laughing very hard right now.

Would they laugh at the fire bombing of Christian churches? Would they laugh at Christians new found ability to print the Malay word for God in their literature? I completely agree the Malaysian government is one of the most outstanding examples of a functional government with a Muslim Majority population. I'm more interested in the attitudes and views of the Muslim majority within that population, which includes you. I know you are going to respond with another bs claim of logical fallacy, but this could not be more on topic, or relevant to this ongoing conversation. If you hide once again behind claim of logical fallacy, should I assume a) cowardice, b) ignorance, c) hypocrisy, or d) all three? A & b? A & C? C & B? Help me out here.

If you want to make it out as though several isolated incidents that took place several months ago concerning the churches represent the Muslim-Malaysian attitude towards Christians and other religions in general, then I say you really need to read more about Malaysia and its history first before asking for my opinion on it. I have better things to do...such as brushing my teeth.

Maybe you should have considered option E) Can't be bothered with entertaining silly polemics that do not go anywhere.

I'm wondering why she's suddenly unwilling to admit her status as a fan of religious violence? She was more honest before. I wonder what changed?

Perhaps she doesn't like the alternatives:
    A) Admit that she hates the idea of Christians in Malaysia using the word "Allah" or "God" which would in the same breath admit her bigotry and support for the firebombings,
    or
    B) Speak out against the fire bombings and profess the word "Allah" should be usable in print media by any religion in Malaysia, which might result in death threats by her fellow Muslims and violence by her own family.

Ain't being a Muslim in Malaysia grand? The funny thing is, if I was too weak minded to dump the religion and move on with my life, as a Muslim in Malaysia I might take exactly the same route of cowardice and hypocrisy.

Yea they are mostly down around the Detroit area. I rarely see anyone that looks like they are from the middle east in Grand Rapids or in northern Michigan.

Interesting poll results. I wonder if those who voted "No" would make angry remarks about it?

I find it amusing that some of the people who voted for disrespecting the dead by building a monument to their murderers have zero posts here at DP:

I stopped checking after these three. It looks like someone here has registered a bunch of "spare" accounts. :p

Havent seen a lotta support from the US in this thread. Having served on zoning commissions a few times I'm pretty sure NYC zoning calls arent gonna be run by the fine citizens of Malaysia or any other third world venue before the decision's made.

Vote early, vote often, vote with all your IDs if you want (or at least the ones thatre still here).Who cares?

There are so many children being molested on a daily basis it is mind boggling. Same with women raped, people robbed, shot, murdered. Can so many murderers, rapists, thieves, and child molesters be wrong? It seems wrong, but maybe they know something we don't know. We should study up on it, maybe give it a try.

Do you really consider the fact someone else is doing something to be a good reason for you to do it as well? Perhaps a better sell would be that converting to Islam lengthens your penis, or gets you laid by the hotest chicks, or fattens your bank accounts, or makes your kids healthy, or feeds the poor, or cures cancer, or increases scientific knowledge, or .... well you know. Really any legitimate reason with statistics to back it. Converting because other people are doing it is just stupid.

Alas, for access to the IP tools.

I am sure the DP moderation are smart enough to detect false IDs. That's not an excuse for the overwhelming support for "Yes". Why not just admit that you don't accept the results if its not in your favour?
