Recently I've been getting a bit of traffic from www.moreresultz.info When you use their search engine, it takes you to a clone of your own page, but the url and page title are still http://www.moreresultz.info/... I looked at the page source code and it is like that because they just put your page in an invisible frame. Your site doesn't break out of the frame if you click on one of your links. Is this legal, is it bad for my site, or should I just be happy to be getting traffic from there? I'm obviously not worried about it for my little site, but I thought I'd ask for the future if I get into something bigger. Kind of curious if other search engines will index their page and index it as their content since it's in their frame.
Yep its legal and not bad for your site. I'd be happy with the traffic . If you really want, you can use JavaScript to automatically break out of frames, although as it might discourage places from linking to you using the method described, I'd advise leaving it as it is.
Thanks Norfstar. So what exactly is their benefit of linking this way? I'm just curious now. My random guess: So that people can leave their site without opening a new window and still have their url to remind them what site they came from?
