Educate women? How about educating the Muslims? This is also not about getting people stop this behavior but more of like increasing other people's awareness that in some countries, there are still who abuse and use violence against women. Although I'm not a Muslim, I personally wouldn't want this to happen to my mum, my sister nor my girlfriend.

The point of these threads is not to stop the muslims being scumbags but to discuss and debate and perhaps enlighten others; I've known people who were literally so ignorant they had no idea this type of thing went on in islam.

Educating women who are abused is not the answer; educating the abusers or eliminating them is the only way to stop this stuff - not educating women. You're oddly dim, frankly.

In the West a woman who has a good career and is not financially dependent on her partner has more options when being abused, yes - although it doesn't make her immune. In the countries we are discussing however no amount of changing the women will help; it is the scumbags who need changing/killing. Where does this reluctance to blame abusers come from, I wonder? Are you an abuser or reformed abuser? Was a loved one abusive to you? If not I can't understand why you'd say "Oh, these guys beat on women legally. The women must change to stop this!"
