Video included. Fairly upsetting - a muslim asshole beats on a woman as she cries that she wants her mother.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...n-shows-woman-flogged-laughing-policemen.html

Oh and to get in first; it's just an extremist, not a real muslim, blah blah blah, the women arrested afterward for sitting on some steps to protest were also arrested by extremists. Blah.

Wearing trousers or not, that is obviously sick. Sick twisted bags of flesh.

Figures. If someone had stepped in and intervened, he or she might get whipped as well. I wonder how the title of Police is defined in Sudan?

On a side note, I am proud of South Sudan's independence referendum taking place on 9th of January. Its a smart move to get rid of the chains of Sharia law, Islamic threats and pathetic people like that policeman in the video present in the North.

Best wishes to South of Sudan.

I notice no muslims have come out to praise their brave and noble brother. Clearly the woman is a trouble maker.

    I didn't wear pants today and I may not tomorrow; wouldn't want to risk offending the muslims ^-^;

For some reason, hitting men just doesn't hold the same appeal for Islamists.

Probably similar to why they don't seem to attack women in Texas.

Which came first their book or the beatings...at any rate being 1400 years old without an update implies it is either the book or illiterate translators for 140 centuries which only proves the book irregardless from what source remains only a reflection of its translators who may or may not be the true followers that only proves a book is basically worthless....unlike what is truly everlasting and not ruled by man as a Garden in giving guidance.

    Alexis-

I couldn't watch the video, the description was sad enough. According to the media, many of these women arrested for protesting have been beaten as well. An article I've read, about them wearing pants, "Under this rule, pants – whether lose or tight – are looked upon as sinful and a punishment of 40 lashes is equivalent to half the penalty for adultery in Islamic law punishment. According to the police directors' interview wiht Sharq alawsat Arabic daily newspaper, more than forty thousands women had been sentenced last year of indecently wearing outfits in public." I'm so grateful not to live under Islamic law. If you read the comments in the article here, they are suggesting everyone blog about this to raise awareness.

From what I understand, in Iran some women caught on the street breaking modesty dress code are verbally warned, yet, if they display extreme "immodesty" they might get arrested, and forced to sign a paper? Even though I've heard of a few worse instances, is that what happens most of the time? As you know, I'm opposed to any modesty police out on the streets harassing women at all. I think women should be able to wear a scarf or not wear a scarf, wear pants or wear a dress.

p.s. Babak, look at the puppy I left for you on your page. I hope you can adopt him. :)

Not a very good joke given the weight of what we're discussing.

That would be pretty much the same as you saying "I don't care about that woman who got whipped by the police and humiliated publicly". Am I wrong?

IMO, it's not just about muslims or why we should stay away from them. I'm more on the NO violence against women regardless of religion.

Ok so on a serious note, the idea of this thread is to get these people to stop this behavior? Thats a fat chance lol. Everyone knows the only way to stop this stuff is to educate women in 3rd world countries....

Even if this women were highly educated, they would still flog her for wearing pants. To me, what this is about is Islamic law.
