More than one H1 on page??

I noticed that there's many new themes that use the H1 tag to wrap every post title. I was always told you can only use one h1 tag per page, and now this has changed? If Google Webmaster Tools gives your site an error I would change it though.

 

Not that I'm aware of, for example I use the <h1> tag in a Blog where it's used for the blog title. The blog may contain 10 or so blogs on a page, and each of those blogs would have a title. I'm using it many times, but the content within the tag is always different.

 

Don't stuff your page with excessive header tags. Although Google has no objection but still the large websites use h2 tag instead of h1 as h1 is usually the title of the page while h2 are descriptions of page content.

 

You wanna use H1 for your header tag. I think this is a good practice as per google.

 

It is always good to have one H1 tag per page.

 

H1 tag is also search engine friendly, H1 tag will be useful for Google engine to index easily.

I think you can use decent amount of H1,H2 & H3 . but people use in huge quantity that is useless.
