Im a mere novice in the game of search engines and marketing, but Im wondering about something when it comes to domains.

Which of these two would you find superior:

    * Domain name with relevant phrase with more monthly searches
    * Domain name with highly targeted phrase but significantly less searches

Now, I should point out that I'm not referring to something like 20,000 phrase searches vs 500 highly targeted searches, but more along the lines of a few thousand versus 1 thousand.

In other words, it's a question of choosing between two "good" phrases that are both relevant.

I would go with the latter just because its more targeted. Its better to have quality than quantity in many cases. So if people are searching for what you have with the intent of taking action and its more targeted-it would be better-rather than something general that has more competition.

    I would do the latter.

You can always fill the content with related keywords.
