More storage with Gmail!

Anyone remember thinking Gmail was an April Fools Joke this time last year? I remember smiling wryly at excited work colleagues and going "no-no-no... It can't be real, don't be so foolish..."

A year and a lot of humble pie later and Gmail are upping your storage! Sign out and read the homepage - the counter's going up!

I have all my business emails forwarded to my gmail account.
    I love their service.
No paid email hosting can beat it IMO.

Nobody can beat GMAIL. It's GR8. And the space is increasing every second. It's 1122MB right now. :)

The gmail service is great. The good people over @ g00gle know WAY too much about me by now which is kinda' scary.

My inbox has now jumped to 1264 MB of storage. I'm subscribed to all kinds of feed and newsletters yet I'm still only using 1%. gmail is alllllllllright.

You've got to love their marketing techniques though :)

They pick a day when everyone expects them to come up with some April fools joke, they choose a fun way of telling everyone about their new storage limits and everyone ends up talking about them.

Have any of you checked out www.google.com/googlegulp/ ?

I think its also a response to Hotmail Plus (their paid service) having been increased to 2 GB.

Google free service is now the same size as Hotmails paid.

    Benefits of Hotmail Paid
    2 GB Storage
They won't delete your account if you don't sign in for a month

gMail has it covered...Another nail in Hotmails coffin

i think the best thing about google is the way they detect spam - so far, for me, their spam detection is awesome - way more accurate than hotmail's... :)

I've had a fraction of the Spam at Gmail as I had at hotmail - and its the same name for both as well. Its very rare I see anything in the Spam folder. :)

Maybe it's because it has been Google generating the spam all this time

Makes you think doesnt it? ;)

Despite all the recent competition between Yahoo!, MSN and Google, they (Google) are still more "fun" than the others. At least they know how to take themselves lightly <- poke at Auto-Link.

Last April 1st's "joke" was no joke. We got 1 GB in Gmail. What if this "joke" is a joke? What if everyone goes back to 1 GB tomorrow? It could happen!

I have used 4 mb so far, but that is just because I haven't deleted much. (plus I don't think it is actually really deleted yet)
