Yet again, I have more emails from bidding directory owners that can't be bothered to promote professionally. The site in question was voisd.com heres a screenshot of the email i got. I spent thousands promoting zorg links, and i appreciate that some owners have low budgets. However, DP is a great place to advertise your site, dont spam it through email forms please. Mike
Do you think he was doing this on a large scale, or just maybe contacting you and a couple of others?
Its hard to tell. The email said so maybe it was personalised. I already knew about his site, was waiting for his alexa to improve, as there is no point buying links on a PR0 site with low traffic.....
Appologies Mikey, the email was indeed personalised, i also sent 2 other personalised emails to two other similar directories that i had hand selected to contact for the search term 'bidding directory'. In terms of finding you, id actually found you through google and also through a number of other bidding related directories (however the primary find was through google). Rest assured that there was definately no mass spam/email mailing occuring... simply an offer of inclusion.
Thanks for that sabian. I guess i got mad when i saw the email. Also the voisd.com domain did not sound too familair to me, was thinking it may of been a QBC member. As for finding me in google, what did you search for and where was i ranked Just interested, as zorg links isnt established in the SEs very much.
Tbh it wasnt your link i found to be exact, id found you referenced in the description of some of the sites in the google results where obviously your listed... your mentioned in the descriptions on 2 or 3 of the results for 'bidding directory'. As for no PR, Voisd tends to get PR4s on subfolders/domains (hence our blog going straight in at PR4) not that i go in for all that PR prediction crap
I think in the directory industry 2-3yrs is old isn't it... although i think there are a few elderly players as well
