More scammers and less sales and offers in DP

I´m a member since 2006. In the last 2 months I have see (and suffer) more scammers here in DP and also lot less sales. I don´t know if it´s my feeling or it´s something that also others see/feel.

When it comes for new sales I try to buy or get services almost only from old members and/or with a lot of itrades but this last thing seem also not to be relevant any more. I have been scammed twice by guys with a considerable amount of itrades.

About the sales itself, I see lot less offers of links and services so doing our work here it turns to be more difficult.

Would like to know what do you think and if here in DP are thinking of ways how to solve this.

I don't hang out at DP to make money.

I've done deals with lots of people on DP, and it's all been via email and PM. I consider myself a pretty good judge of character, and NOT ONCE have I had a bad experience dealing with anyone on DP. But then again, I rarely go into BST ;)

    iTrader means nothing to me.

Finding business partners in BST is like going to the local public toilets to find love :p

You should be very smart enough to distinguish scammers from real buyers/sellers...

    Yes that's right...

Whenever you open a thread like WTB etc, you'll get loads of Private Message full of Scams :) That's for sure. But if we use our concise well we can distinguish they are scam.

With more and more people trying to sell different things online, more and more people are using the internet. So you are bound to find more people trying to commit some scams. Most of the people are trustworthy on these forums though.

There is a few people selling content at a good price it seems like, but you go to the BTS section push new posts %99 of the threads are garbage.

Be rich over night, Blackhat secrets, make $7000 a day, all BS.

Must be like spam make a thousand threads and get one person to send money make a thousand more, then make 3 usernames to respond to yourself to keep your thread from falling off the page.

    What a pathetic life.

well i've seen the content creation services are really poor nowadays. I've hired some posters that had awful grammar and i was pretty disappointed.

I've also managed to trade on DP without running into ANY scammers, infact the only other forum I came anywhere near getting scammed is sitepoint someone tried to pay via a stolen paypal account but thankfully I always check my account to make sure the money is there rather than just waiting for the paypal email. Paypal took the money back straight away and I got the guy banned faster pretty damn quick lol I kept my domains, got the scammer banned and was happy.

There are often tell-tale signs with scammers, for example If someone seems to have a bad attitude or if they seem more trouble than they are worth as a lot of scammers will do their damndest to be a pain in the ass and waste your time then you might want to think twice. Common sense will often see you safely out the other side of the tunnel

The DP marketplace has been quite quiet lately. Possibly due to new rules.

I got scammed last week too, only $20 though

I got scammed, and quite a few other members did, by luk-3 and kink (same person) and I lost $175. Funny thing is, he left his home phone number on the internet for everyone to see, and because he is only 16, he is living with his parents therefore I can call them ;)

I got scammed of around 300 EUR in total.

I think thats because forum is TOO public.

There should be forum with recommendation system and moderator invite only. There are forums with monthly fees but, what the hell - no thank you.

Those are the biggest scammers of all. They get away with it easily and they know that.

    lucky you he's 16 :)
And I'm quite lucky too due to no bad experience in doing services for people in DP. Still hoping though that this experience will continue.
