I think it's quite clever of the Bing developers to leverage their browser market to collate data on what people are searching for and the results that they appear to be drawn to.

I don't think Google really has that much right to get all uppety about it. At the end of the day it's not that much different than Google scraping data from Twitter and Facebook to update their results based on data which they collect. How much do they pay Facebook or Twitter for the information they use?

Nice work Microsoft,, hehehe.. Though its rather hard to say that Bing is copying you if you don't know the exact algorithm Bing is using. Its just the case of the black box all over again.

The NY Times has a low of opinion of Microsoft for doing this. They liken it to opening a restaurant across the street from a well known restaurant and, when your customer orders a similar dish, running across the street, ordering it from the other restaurant and serving it as your own.

I am an avid user of Google, and I find their results very efficient. But with this rumors bugging around now, I think I have to cast my vote to Bing. Yes I know it sounds pretty weird. But Bing is too brilliant to plan a strategy like that one :)

You use Google and think it's the best but you vote for Bing?! What kind of a statement is that? And what vote are you talking about? There's not voting on this!
You sound far more than weird.
Since Microsoft has admitted doing it, and they are also the least used search engine, AND they lose over $500 million per quarter on Bing, AND they got caught copying, that doesn't sound brilliant, does it?

Bing is considering Google result as one of its algorithm for ranking.
    and
Goodle is taking Facebook & twitter likes/share in its algorithm for ranking.

    What is different then?

Re-read my post and the NY Times article. Bing/Microsoft is doing their typical unethical, underhanded dirty tricks that has gotten them in trouble on two continents all over again.

Love the discussion, but to those that think Microsoft is brilliant, How about i borrow some content and images from your site and then act as though i created. does that make me brilliant????????

    What rumors?

It's the equivalent of passing an exam by copying the person next to you.
