It seems to me that a lot of people are comming online to earn an extra $100 - $500 per month, maybe to help take care of the bills? A lot of people seem to be part time in this industry.

I don't think, 100 - 500 $ / month is not so easy to make. When you are an average internet user is almost impossible, you must learn, practice, can't learn and make money in 1 day or 1 month, if you do it is luck, but not everyday is Sunday...

it depends what side of the fence you are on. For me, that brings more opportunity.

But honestly people, DON'T WORRY ABOUT COMPETITION.

the majority of people who come online looking to make some extra money aren't going to be competition. They aren't going to treat this like a business, they aren't going to put the needed dedication/focus/time/energy to make it succeed.

Yeah that could be the case because a lot of people are losing their jobs.
Competition? Well that depends on how it is that you make your money,

I think this makes lot of sense. As many people are losing jobs, they will search for a way to earn money on the internet. Some will try websites to earn money where some people will try freelancing.

I guess the competition will become tougher and tougher.

This is why I am not participating anymore much in these type of forums. There is no point in helping other people who will end up being your competition. Your just screwing yourself.

Already the hosting field is more saturated if there is more competition to be added its a tough situation to handle, but it is true that more people are turning online

Hope you will remember your words after few years. People from Central - Eastern Europe and Asia will make U.S. people lose the supremacy over internet. This is your real competition not the crisis.

Of course it can bring more competition, but competition is good. You will see who has quality and who doesn't

Also as others have said it opens new opportunities for experienced online marketers to teach.

there'll definitely be more competition, but for those in the internet marketing niche, sales will skyrocket because there's so many new people looking for ways to make money online.

loss of jobs and recession no doubt make many people turn to online earning. The reason is online earning request less investment. However, the earning might not be as expected since it not easy to earn good money without good marketing and internet knowledge

Not really, because most of them don't know what the hell they're doing. More than that, most of them won't actually do much with whatever information they consume. They're looking for the magic get rich technique that'll have them working on their laptop on a beach while working 2 hours a day.

So basically it'll mean a lot more newbies jumping from moneymaking opportunity to moneymaking opportunity, and MAYBE a tiny percentage of people who actually act on what they learn consistently enough for it to be profitable for them.
