So today we have another 6 NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17282903

Why is this happening? What possible good can come from leaving NATO soldiers in Afghanistan until 2014? What on earth will be achieved? Politicians are telling great lies about what is being achieved, returning soldiers are telling a different story. Does anyone truly believe by staying another two years that the Taliban will be defeated, AQ obliterated never to exist again and that the Afghan crime lords and militia will say "Thank you for teaching us to be valuable citizens."

What a waste of lives, what a waste of money. FN politicians.

They are bullshitting . Total tactical victory can't be fully achieved as long as reinforcements keep pouring in from Pakistan and Iran . IMHO we'll need permanent bases there . Plus it's good training ground

Romania has decided to provide permanent bases in Afghanistan which not only will not cost anything but increases the Romania wealth by their soldiers sending money home. :)

The mission in Afghanistan has already failed. The American people need to overthrow their government and bring those troops home before more of them are killed by the Taliban.

Ask Bin Laden how successful we were. Ask Sheik Kahlid Mohammed. Ask Al Awlaki.

If you think the mission in Afghanistan was to setup a western style democracy, most people understand you can't teach donkeys to sing. If/when some new terrorist outfit gets setup on our departure, we can always rinse and repeat :D. After all, we spent the last decade testing out our unmanned advanced weapons systems.

I'm starting to think the Saudi Royal family's love of Israel, homosexuals, and drug filled parties is making you bitter.

    Nobody cares about these terrorists.

The mission is to nation build and make sure the Afghan government is stable enough to stay in power, run the country and crackdown on terrorists. This mission is failing. Its about time American people took matters in their own hands, oust this regime in power and bring back those poor soldiers who are are at risk of losing their lives.

Your drones are ineffective. Soon the Taliban will be back in power and the US will no longer be able to use Afghan airspace for fear of a terrorist attack.

On this we can agree. Now that they are dead, nobody cares. Usama Bin Laden is as forgotten as yesterday morning's bowel movement, flushed away.

Gee, I guess the White House didn't get your memo. Perhaps you mistakenly packaged it in the same envelope in which you sent your bomb threats....

Al Alawki doesn't share your views (or anyone elses views anymore). Drones have been dissecting Al Queda leadership in Northern Pakistan with practically no US troop presence. Same in Yemen.

The funny thing is, the same thing that makes Afghanistan difficult to modernize also makes it easy to control. Corruption. I would imagine that much of the CIA network in Pakistan and Afghanistan are locals. One day, the guy is your brother in arms, chanting death to America. The next, he is painting your house with laser for a drone flying overhead. Sleep tight sweetheart.

Why should we be concerned if Terrorists take out another bunch of Saudis, or Syrians, or Afghanis. Like you said, we are leaving. Feel free to encourage the slaughter of each other, if that is your cup of tea. Besides, we can get whatever we want from the Saudis. :D.

Stop crying Obamanation. You are failing in Afghanistan as you have failed in Iraq. :D

Oh please. Stop giving yourself so much credit, the Yemeni government told you where he was, you have no real intelligence of your own.

Taliban are not corrupt-able. US will make a full withdrawal from Afghanistan, they are not retarded that much I know, I mean who wants another 9/11 right ?

Don't be concerned. Fix your ailing economy. Help your homeless and poor. Be nice to us and we might just reduce oil prices.

There it is... Saudi Academy of Science training in action. Land at the north pole... check. Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein alive.... check. Flat earth.... check.

I could be wrong on this, but rumor has it that Obama had Bin-Laden's testicles cut off and encased in a transparent resin block, which George W. Bush now uses as the rear view mirror ornament in his Ford pickup truck. I'm pretty sure that we can do the same for people of similar mind.

Thats just a rumor. Everyone knows if bin laden actually had balls he'd have flown one of the jets himself instead of subbing the job out to retards that bought his "72 virgins" hogwash. Gotta wonder how many lead based paint chips it'd take in the diet to cause someone to be so gullible as to waste their life based on fairy tales.

The American people are sick of war. They will not continue to sacrifice their children to fight ghosts in the Afghanistan. To much wealth has vanished in attempt to obliterate terrorists in the Afghanistan, stop trying it, give it up already. Why is that you want American peoples' wealth to be wasted on fighting terror, I do not want American peoples wealth to be wasted on terrorists, I'm actually trying to help you.

While I appreciate your effort to help, I'm not sure a guy who thinks there is land at the North Pole has a lot to offer in the way of intelligent advice. You strike me more as the type of guy Rob described above, buying into the whole 72 virgins concept. Believe me, if I need advice on how to properly beat my wife, you will be the first guy I contact.

On the "waste" of wealth, you are probably not familiar with the whole concept of Capitalism, but the money spent in Afghanistan is certainly not wasted. Weapons systems need testing. Veteran combat troops are more effective than troops who have never seen combat. New weapons systems need funding. The last decade has been a revolution in the development of US covert and battlefield technology. Lets face it. War is a business all unto itself. The advances the US has made in the last decade will propel our private enterprise and international weapons sales for decades to come.

We can argue the morality of it all, though even the leftists in America like Obama make an easy argument that Afghanistan was a moral war. I happen to agree with you, and the president for that matter, on getting out. We have nothing left to achieve in Afghanistan. Bin laden is dead, Al Queda mostly dismantled, and the Afghans are far to uneducated, poor, and corrupt to nation build, even with a giant Marshall Plan type effort. Afghanistan started as a failed state, and will remain a failed state.

You are sounding like the Zionists who have stolen 0.0001% of Muslim land and constantly brag about how Israel is shrinking. Do the American people a favour and jump off a cliff !

Is that what you told your school teacher when she told you there is no land at the North Pole? I was simply trying to provide you a bit of information on how the war machine works in a capitalist society, but the information seems to aggravate you.

I suppose you find that kind of information just about as welcome as Iran's nuclear program. I have to admit, part of me is secretly rooting for Iran to succeed and clean the heathens out of Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are singularly unworthy to control Mecca and Medina.

Looking at Ahmadinijad, he is kicking your ass in Syria. I'd say he has a shot.

:D . There's casualties in any revolution. But look at the bright side - Syria will be free thanks to militias armed by Gulf states and Turkey, and there's nothing you can do about it.
