I am wondering, if anyone has experienced this. That while building links, more links isn't always better. I was building mostly high PR links, about 30 per day for a new site. Then increased that effort by adding about 500 spinned article links in additional to higher PR links, then found a sharp drop in traffic. I suspect, that Google doesn't take in all the links. It sorta randomly pick up maybe 100 to 200 links, and use that as sample for SERP rating. Either that or there is some averaging effect, so the PR 0 article links are diluting the higher PR links I am building. What do you guys think?
difficult to say without seeing the site. Every site is unique (hopefully ) and requires a different approach, feel free to pm me the link.
If links are getting built too quickly that throws up a red flag to Google and while you're site will still be indexed, it will not rank well, especially if it's new. This happened to a few sites I worked on. There's no need to worry, just give it some time and if the links you built are legit and relevant then your site will come back and start ranking.
Perhaps Google doesn't like the spun articles. That is kinda spammy. I would rather just submit the exact same article to lots of article directories. There could be other reasons for your link building to set off red flags. One thing in particular is overuse of a certain phrase as link anchor text. You do need to vary the link anchor text to look more natural. As mentioned above, it might just take a little while for Google to give you full credit for all the new links. It might just be a matter of just regularly building links and being patient.
i don't think so . May be your articles are not original so try to put original one with proper keywords.
Time can play a big factor in SEO, I have had times where I didn't rank for anything, and then a week later I was at the top for one of my keywords. Any SEO I do now I usually expect to see results in around 6 months, but it can be a lot quicker or longer than that too!
What Todd SEO said above is quite right. You can tackle this to some extent by adding unique and useful content to your site.
Totally agree with Todd SEO. When you build many links or run a marketing campaign (thus many sites link to yours all of a sudden), google will drop you for a while as they need to confirm that you're not manipulating the ranking. But once they see they the links you got are permanent and relevant they will bring you back considerably higher than before. Unfortunately, you'll have to sacrifice your ranking for a few weeks to get better results.
You have answered your own question really. You built links to fast and used spun articles, perhaps Google is less stupid that you realise?
the same thing happened to me. i got advice from other forum and according to them this is due to using same anchor text to link to the site. so, please vary your anchor text and play around with keyword
I am experiencing similar situation recently and after getting a couple high PR links my PR dropped by 1, and I have serps drop on all my pages and kws
Google like BL .. but now I feel link building not giving much weight as before... Found many site since one year and lots of Bl but not even in the first page of some medium keywords...If have budget better to advertise in Google this may helps to get some weight
Hmm...thanks for the advices guys. I think my problems might be with anchor texts, I will try to vary it a bit and slow down link building to see if SERP improves.
