Hey, So the active users of this forum will know I'm trying to push my Migraine Relief product. I'm sending a quick email to wake up affiliates with 5 PLR Articles relating to the niche that I wrote earlier today. Is this a good idea? Maybe I should do this on a weekly basis? A few people suggested bumping the price so it was over $20 in commission. I've done this now, but $29.99 to $33.99 is a bit of a mind barrier, so a bit worried it will reduce conversions. Thoughts people ? Thanks
No doubt Its a good Idea! Brain storm a bit and you will come up with some more effective one. Some products/niches converts better when the price is on bit higher side. Split test for following four price points to see which converts best. Price points:$27, $29.99, $37, $49.99.
You should definitely split test - of course there is the issue that above the $20.00 price is what affiliates prefer, but if this massively lowers the conversion then this is obviously not the best thing to do - the truth is in split testing the different price points - if you can do them all at the same time with google webmaster tools then great, otherwise perhaps switch the prices everytime you get to a thousand or couple of thousand visits. Oh, and I think the articles are a good idea - make it as easy as possible for affiliates to promote you
I was thinking of doing this on a weekly basis. I've set up a tracking link so I'll see what sort of click through rate I get. I've just been through the site again and found a few poor points. It says "2009 edition" but that is an image so I can't change that without an animator. The picture also says $27, yet I have been changing the price to try and get new affiliates - i've put it back to $27 for now... All a learning curve I guess
Don't test for "days", test for "sales". Run the test until you've achieved X conversions, rather than for X days. If you run it for days you might only get 3 or 4 sales and that won't tell you anything. You need at least 50 sales to come up with any reliable numbers, and honestly the more you can get the better. Many people advocate for 100 actions (opt ins, sales, clicks, whatever) before you really know anything for sure.
I'd go for 200 sales at least to see the conversion rates, since you need more than one technique/ traffic medium and there's not time to bring all that much traffic in just a few days. Al.
5 articles? like throwing a small slice of meat to a big dog. Have any affiliate contest going, or sales bonuses?
I have not contacted affiliates since the launch, so it was just to try and activate the list really and start to communicate with them. I have a few ideas, and I think I want to work on accruing affiliates rather than promoting the actual site to get my own sales. Does anyone have access to affiliate email lists? Or webmaster lists?
Abestweb.com is a good forums to announce, here on CB, Warrior forums, affiliate-announce.com, www.clickbanksuccessforum.com, www.clickbankforum.com and there are a few more. Put something attractive together, and reach out to the affiliates.
Its not about days, its about total no of visitors. choose a sample size of 3000 visitors for each price point.
