It isn't just passing now. Are you simply not reading the thread? I posted the record of this Bill, the dates of passage and the vote counts and allocations.

    1. You didn't even check to see who voted for it before pointing fingers.

    2. You don't know that it passed in 2005, and is only coming into effect now.

    3. Reading is FUNdamental.

Thank yourself. It's blind squirrels clutching their partisan nuts that have f**ked up this country. Ignorant finger pointers who cast blame, right or wrong rather than confront and learn about the problem.

Actually, if you will do your own research....the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005 was only passed because it was attached to the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. That act, which was supported heavily by the GOP, is the reason that the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005 was voted in. The DTTPSA of 2005 was sponsored by none other than RINO Ted "Bridge to no-where" Stevens. Furthermore, the dems did not vote for this bill because it did not provide for MORE SPENDING see this letter for more info: http://energycommerce.house.gov/legviews/109lv-budrec-dtv.pdf

So once again, as I said previously, Thanks DEMS. Without you, our government would be spending way more than necessary.

As a final remark...I do want to thanks the GOP, for lowering the deficit (which was what this bill was all about), and for not letting the dems spend WAY MORE than is necessary.

d16 so you decided to research AFTER putting your foot in your mouth, blaming the dems for something the repubs did.

BTW nobody is backing up the dems, simply stating it was the repubs, why not blame them for it are you not capable of blaming them when they are wrong?

Even your link shows pretty clearly the dems wanted more funding than the repubs because it was the repubs pushing the bill through, had the repubs not of pushed it through the way they had, forcing a cut off would the dems of requested any money? More than likely, it however does not make both parties innoccent.

But nope, lets be blind and partisan and unable to blame both sides, lets just mindlessly blame the dems for out of control spending when the repubs certainly have done little to nothing to curb spending while they were in charge.

Lowering the deficit that they helped create? Right, great job

    Guerilla:

Thanks for the links and the data.

Facts are incredibly important in the face of endless singular non researched partisanship....that when researched simply proves the partisan claims to be totally untrue.

Read through the elements of the bill. Its so convoluted with so many aspects and so spread on different issues...it defies analysis by the common man. Who is for what.

But in the end the bill passed with a mighty example of party voting--the repubs voted in the bill with the wacky support of a gizmo for tv's. The Dems voted against it.

and d16 showed us what happens when you can't or won't read.

And btw....yes...RP voted against the bill, being one of 9 repubs voting against it.

Of course he did. It's pretty rare that he votes for spending. He's the only GOP candidate talking about actually cutting spending AND taxes at the same time (shrinking government).

    Thanks. :)
