But there's nothing sexy about gworld's avatar! Vulcano, at one time my husky was a male, but thanks to modern veternary medicine his license and vet records now say "sexless" What about your doggie, sexless as well?
If there was a way to get this information I would be curious to see what percentage of sites listed last year were editors verses submitters. Take adult or real estate, of the total number of sites listed last year in these categories, how many editors had affiliations with them verses sites that were submitted by a webmaster/site owner.
not yet, any photoshop gurus reading this? hahaha female 10 months old, already planned an appointment at the veterinary. Due to the fact that she likes to eat like nuts and grandma likes to feed her, we stopped grandma, put the dog on diet (not that serious) and delayed this special appointment.
I don't know that but here's a couple of numbers. My editing logs show 33777 unique adds, one of which is my own site. My husband's ex-wife lives in LasVegas... I don't edit there.
Before you consider a sex-change gworld, what is it exactly that you are complaing about in these specific cases? onlinesexhq(.)com which has 23 listings Free-orgy-pics-mpegs(.) com which has 6 links free-hardcore-porn-videos-pics(.)com..10 listings Are you complaining about these listings? and/or besides that, do you also mean that there is a connection between whoever listed these sites and also this removespyware-site?
Cute, cuter, cutest - so that means the last poster of nude avatars has the cutest right? Annie has ten times the number of unique ads that I do - but I still don't have 3522 friends in the horse business (or in my small (aka podunk) home town)
These sites are all owned by the same person. I thought that was clear when I asked how does some one gets so lucky to get at least 3 domain and 39 links in DMOZ to market the same software. Editor's log is a joke, there is a need to have procedures that does not permit editors list such sites. Ask yourself this simple question, how do you know that editor A, editor B, editor C and editor D are not the same person? You know about computers, how difficult is it for some one to have multiple IP address that can show you in different country or even different continents?
Gworld, Why must you talk in riddles? Just say what you want to say, I don't know how to do anything with IP addresses. Here's my site about my dogs... http://familyfreakshow.com ...I have to tell you it's about my dogs for you to really appreciate its true crappiness. Yet, no listings. What am I doing wrong?
I would say most probably are: #1. People buy domains from the original owner's websites in dmoz, you see it in this forum, #2. People try to quickly buy domains listed in dmoz that expire, like this guy #3. Different editors list different pages in dmoz Gworld what would you suggest? Doesn't every directory on the net face this problem?
You know that there will be changes, I hope they will be that significant to get rid of listings of that kind. I have been thinking that there might be some problems myself, frankly without spending much time and I also have no clue what is known about these problems/to which extent they exist there in reality. PS. and off almost 3am my time
If you have different ISP providers, then you will have different IP address. If you are connected to VPN, you will have different IP address. It is very easy, for example you can have a usual broadband to your place but sign up for some cheap dial up or even go to an Internet cafe, every time you want to "edit" and you will have different IP address. Bottom line, it is very simple, multiple IP, multiple editor ID.
VPN= Virtual private network. If it is set up properly, for all practical purposes, it can look like you are in Africa or anywhere else you like to be. http://www.howstuffworks.com/vpn.htm
G so what do you suggest? Wouldn't this be a problem for every directory, forum, etc. on the internet?
I know - I know. All editors must submit themselves for retinal scans, then the ODP will buy super special processing equipment that can identify the retinal scans - and in order to edit, the editors must blind themselves with the red light that scans their eye. Once the blindness wears off (if ever) - they can edit. And the entire internet community can rest safely.
Whilst some people have been caught with multiple editor accounts so it must be possible, you get to know people, the way they post, phrase things, things that are impossible to keep up over the time required to get into a position where corruption on any scale could be perpetrated via such a scheme. So I don't think the concept of senior editors with multiple accounts is very credible. And neither do I.
I don't know if I'd like lmocr's idea, but maybe something in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Security/Biometrics/ would work? Maybe gworld could organize a fund-raiser to buy the equipment? Or, maybe AOL could buy us all special computers and each editor can only edit on the AOL modified computer. Mine's getting old.
How about the concept of senior editors that approve the application of "new editors" and new editors who approve the submission? different submissions, approved by "different editors". How about when a senior editor asks a new editor why certain links has not been approved yet since senior editor knows that those links are good? But we can discuss this on later episodes of "More fun with DMOZ", the question for this episode is how come some people are so lucky that get multiple domains with multiple deep links listed while others can not get one.
