More fun with DMOZ, II

After looking at “affiliate doorway” pages in More fun with DMOZ and how adult webmasters use DMOZ as their marketing arm to gain better SERP and market their affiliate programs, we are going to try to understand how some people get so lucky. ;)

It is a common complain by webmasters that they can not even get listed once and it is a common defense by DMOZ editors that all such webmasters are spammers. Let’s look at DMOZ listing for onlinesexhq(.)com which has 23 listings in DMOZ. Click on link #1 and on that page click on anything except gallery that has minimum amount of pictures to satisfy “Guideline” and it takes you to removespyware(.)com.
Try the same thing with link #2, in what domain do you end up? Removespyware(.)com.
Try links #3 to #23, where does it go? Will you be surprised if it is removespyware(.)com?

Now let’s look at the DMOZ listings for Free-orgy-pics-mpegs(.) com which has 6 links.Click on link #1 to #6. Will you be surprised that if you click on anything on that doorway page, you will be forwarded to removespyware(.)com?

The fun is not over yet, how many listings free-hardcore-porn-videos-pics(.)com have in DMOZ? It is of such “high quality, unique content” doorway that it deserves 10 listings. I think by now you can guess that all those doorway pages will take us to our old friend removespyware(.)com.

As you can see, one lucky person not only can have multiple deep links on one domain but also can have multiple links on multiple domains. At least 3 domain and 39 links and possibly much more are used for marketing a software that is not even an adult site.

So when most people complain that they can not get even one listing and editors blame everyone for spamming, how do some people get so lucky?

As always the problem is not about these particular domains or hundreds like it and it is not about as some editors like to pretend, being against adult listings; the problem is with acceptance of unacceptable practices as the norm in adult section.

I know even a better one.

    Let's look at digitalpoint.com http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=digitalpoint.com
It has 15 listings in DMOZ.
4 of them being to forums.digitalpoint.com or deeplinks of it
6 of them deeplinks into the tools section.
And it doesn't matter which of these 15 links I click I always see adverstisements at the top of the page. And many of the postings in the forum have promotional links in them like for instance to a site called Gentlemen's Cafe.

Yeh. Let's remove all domains with more than one listing in DMOZ and also remove all sites with advertisements.

    A poll:

    accountability is

    1. deliberately being obtuse
    2. just another DMOZ apologist and troll
    3. dumb as a stump
    4. drunk as a skunk
    5. just not the same since that mule kicked him between the eyes

    OK, Confession Time.

Yes, DMOZ controls the minds, souls, and actions of its editors. I have irrefutable proof! I have been a DMOZ editor for over 5 years and and because of the stupid guidelines only 1 of my 8 websites, is listed!

I can't get any of my crap websites listed even thought they are just as crappy (maybe even crappier) than anyone elses crap website. Why won't they list every page in every category that's even remotely relevant?

Is it because I forgot to make affiliate doorways? Or maybe it really is all about money, but I can't afford to bribe myself to find out, and even if I could afford it, I'd have to report the bribery attempt and then my crap sites that won't ever be listed anyway will get banned. This is an outrage.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd go list my crap sites myself!

Oh come on now Vulcano, when we're caught, we're caught. You know full well that you, me and lmocr all use unclothed avatars.

But ya gotta admit, we are cute. ;)

    Well, I'm cuter.

Never heard about this Joyce. The hair-style looks ultra-perm. From the very beginning your avatar reminded me of Dustin Hoffmann in Tootsie.:D

I don't have the time, that's why they're so crappy. Like this one... http://www.nature-craft.com/ ...boy, I had plans for that one but nooooo, instead I only have time to use it to teach my grandson how to use frontplague.

I doubt those corrupt editors will ever list it. Because of DMOZ I will never be rich.

And shy girl, sexy yes! Semi-nude, I think not.

May be you should tell the meta editors, to arrange some motivational class for you. They don't have any problem listing their sites but more about that in episode III. ;)
