Ok. I've got a few hundred blog articles to post to my site. I've got them all sitting in notepad waiting for me to post em up onto my site. I've heard there is benefit to having a frequently updated site. What is better? Do I put up the few hundred blog posts at once and let the site go or, Do I set it up to release say 1 or 2 blog posts a day for the next few months. What would search engines prefer? A site with frequent updates or a site with lots of content?
I would post those articles on some type of schedule. The search engines love fresh content. If you post them all at once, you won't have any fresh content after the initial dump. If these articles aren't unique content, they won't do very well. Just posting existing articles won't help much.
Thanks. No, these are original content - small posts - but my own words. I have about 250 entries already indexed and I'm getting some good traffic from google.ca (not .com darn it) but i didn't want to unlesh the other 250 i've got sitting waiting at once, get a massive boost, and then nothing. So agreement that frequency trumps quantity?
As for you getting rankings on .ca instead of .com....it's not surprising considering your url. Google.com tends to value other domain extensions more than international extensions like .ca, .co.uk, etc. On the other hand, google.ca gives equal weight to international domain extensions as they do to .com, .net, .org, etc. Google.ca gives an advantage to .ca domains though.
watch your indexing date and post one after every indexing till you get indexed every day I think this way you will get google to love your site and crawl it daily
