Is it true that google rates your site higher then others if you have more articles, say in the thousands. I have tried this with automated CMS sites, If you can import a few thousand RSS feeds as pages, those pages get listed, in turn giving your more hits and better ranks. I would like to hear peoples view on this.
more article is more difficult to work. if you want to work with tons of articles, you need tons of backlinks from reated web site.
All other things being equal, yes, it would work. But all things are never equal, and there are many other factors. So no, it's just not that easy. Especially if you're just importing a lot of articles you've bought as part of a database or are stealing others' RSS feeds or something.
It is not important to submit more and more articles in article directory but you should try to put fresh article after 50-60 article directory. and main thing is that your article must be approved and get index by the article directories.
importing other people's feeds as pages is duplicate content, and your site will be heavily penalized....why would google rank your site high if all you do is steal content that is already on someone's site.
Getting other people content is just useless and risky. Adding a lot of interesting articles that are unique content would be very beneficial. Unique content is key in SEO, as it generates backlinks.
More articles => more long tail phrases => more traffic It doesn't rank your pages better though, but if you do a good job on interlinking to relevant pages on your site you might see some benefits.
Bad thing about just taking articles from RSS feeds and article sites is you will run into duplicate content issues. Yea it is great to have a bunch of pages on your site with all different type of helpful information. However the successful websites did not become successful overnight. I understand you are trying to improve your SERP's, bring in more traffic. However building a site that is full of old articles and information you didn't even write yourself will not bring in a good audience. A good audience will come back time and time again to read what you wrote for the day. They will interact with your site via comments or emails. Do this and in due time you will have a successful website. Copy RSS feeds and such, you will have some pissed off authors, no loyal readers and supplimental results in google.
