It seems like day by day - the forums that I visit are putting in the "nofollow" attribute. Evertime I post something in a blog or forum, I make sure that I put great input and then leave a link back to my site or one of my internal pages. But now, the forums that had no "nofollow", are now putting that in. Just wonderng if you guys are seeing the same thing where just about all the blogs and forums are putting in "noFollow" attributes?
Blame those trash reply posts. If everyone just put what they need to say in related to the theme, it would not be this bad.
I see as many people adding Dofollow as changing to Nofollow. Its really more of a churn. Bloggers who want to build a community and can handle the spam through plugins like Akismet usually are rewarded with increased traffic. I'd also recommend blog owners use the topcommenter plugin to require and reward the top readers/commenters each month.
That's the fault of spammer. Many forum / blog change to nofollow since too many spammer. We cant do anything, and only when all those spammer disappear, then the webmaster / blogmaster will change them to dofollow again
Which forums have you come across that are nofollow? Sitepoint (which I joined yesterday) had a note in one of its threads that it will soon be nofollow unless you have more than 100 posts; CSS Drive forums removed all signatures after I'd been posting for a while. Like you, I find this VERY annoying: I too try to leave good posts - I either try to help someone else or else I ask questions that I genuinely want to know the answers to. I do notice, however, that some people add pretty quick and valueless comments - although others like yourself take the time and trouble to be helpful.
