More Ads, No More Impressions, WTF?

So I just started using Adsense. I added one leaderboard and a corner square. I put the corner square on the left. I was getting eCPM $0.05 but then went to $0.18. After a few clicks my eCPM went to $0.80.

I thought I'd add a third ad impression square. My eCPM fell to $0.07. Okay, so I took it off. Now I'm back to $0.11 with 2 ads. My impressions are the same as Analytics.

So Analytics says I hae 400 impressions today, Adsense also saysI have 400 impressions. But I have 2 Adsense ads? Shouldn't I have more impressions or a higher eCPM to follow this?

Otherwise why would I ever have more than 1 ad if it doen't pay more?

Did you use one channel for both ads or a different channel for each ad? If you used one channel to name both ads, then it should show 800 impressions. If you gave a channel name to each ad, the each channel should be showing 400 impressions.

Wow, no I totally didn't do that. Like I show an add on a side bar and one in my top nav and footer. How do I add one for each channel?

You can add channel for each ads to track which ads have clicks. You have to edit the code of your ads and add channel on it before you submit.

Steps on how to add channel: (Assuming that you log-in already in adsense)
    1. Click "Adsense Setup" tab.
    2. Click "Manage Ads" link under Adsense Setup tab.
    3. Select the desired ads you want to edit and then click the "Edit Ad Setting" link on the right side.
    4. Click the "Add New Channel" link under the All Channels.
    5. Once you're done, you can see the channel you've added on the text area.
    6. Click the "Add" link that corresponds on the channel you want to use.
    7. You can see your selected channel on the right side under "Your Selected Channels".
    8. Click "Save Settings".
    9. After saving, the page will go back to the Manage Ads page. Now, click the "Code" link on the right side of the ads that you've changed.
    10. Copy the code and replace the old code on your site.

That's it. Hope this will help you.

I already have code for the ads up. But I have channels for like each of my catagories, like cat=1, cat=2, cat=3. So If I have three ad units up, I am still not at all clear how I get the channels to correspond to them?

Once you're done, you can see the channel you've added on the text area.
    6. Click the "Add" link that corresponds on the channel you want to use.

This is what I don't understand. What am I adding? If I have ad units in my header, footer and sidebars, do I add domainname.com/footer.php as a channel?
