More ads = Lower click price... Myth or a fact?!!

    Hello DP,

I've heard that the more ads appearing on your site the lower the price of the click be.

For instance: If you have "text only" 2 rectangle adunits with 4 ads in each one (8 ads/page)... you get lower click price than 1 rectangle adunit, or 1 rectangle "text only" adunit with another image only adunit. (4 link + 1 image = 5 ads/page)

Is that true or just a myth?

    Thanks.

I personally find this to be true. CTR goes down, etc. Never worked out well to have to many ads, at least for me.

Is it a fact, probably but don't quote me on it.

Fact, Coz If you place too many ads, higher paying ads are kept at top and if someone clicks the lower ads, Bamm.. your CPC will be so low,

Keep one ad and if you get a click, You will get an awsome amount :D

Thats how it works..! Thats the fact behind this fact :D

Myth. People have been saying that this is fact for years when it isn't. I have three ads per page and the first adsense ad isn't always filled with the top paying ads...I have had bigger clicks below the fold. Play with it and see what works best for you .

I am pretty sure this is a myth. I believe though the higher paying ads are placed at the top if you have multiple adsense ads on a page.

    this is a myth.

you might notice you get more clicks with having only 1 or 2 adds placed in the article, but the reason you get more clicks is because thats the only ad they see.

If you have more ads it wont affect anything, what I did notice is those LINK UNIT word only text links pay the worst!

Smart pricing is also a myth.

The amount of cash you make per click has to do with your NICHE, some niches are low paying like gossip and entertainment niches, sports niches are low pay too I believe.

Indirectly yes. Adsense actually are giving the best paying ads which matching your content.
However, if the ads units getting more, it means adsense have to give you some lower CPC ads. In this case, the visitor might click on the lower CPC ads, and indirectly cause the lower earning

    1 AD = 2 ADs
    3 ADs < 2 ADs

It is fact and not because of lower CTR caused this. The more ads you placed, the more chance for advertising from low paying / low quality advertisers will be displaying on your website and caused a dropped in earning per click.

    Yes it is true...
More Ads = High CTR >> Low Price
Single Ad = Low CTR >> High Price
