Well as you said above keyword research is a good campaign in SEO industry. I think Google adwords keyword tools is the best tool to research and analyze keywords. I always use it and i didn't find any problem with it
I also use Google adwords keyword tools because it is a powerful tool but also because it is free and I don't have a budget to invest on another tool!
