Moody Validator NEEDS Stroking???????

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by allthingstrendy, Jan 24, 2006.

    The validator keep taking my banners out of rotation because it says my site is not validating. The URL it provides is http://www.allthingstrendy.com/catalog . I have had the banners deployed on my site for months. I have not changed my site in many months.

    I continually click the "Validate/Calculate Weight Now" button and finally I get "Ads appear to be live on your site". Please don't say "google has cached....". My site has not changed layout in months. I can not find a cached page in google the does not have the banners.

    Every time I return to check my status (once a week or so), I am deactivated again. I am getting a little bothered about providing free ad space. Something is wrong... any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    David

    I just ran the validator about 10 times on your domain and it went through fine each time, so I'm not sure...

    Thanks for trying.... however, I'm running it now and I'm getting the persistent "Account not not yet activated" on the same URL: http://www.allthingstrendy.com/catalog/

    Yeah, I see it now too. Is your catalog generating static HTML by chance (rather than generating the page dynamically)?

    My site is an OSCommerce PHP site. My limited knowledge is that it is all dynamic. Does that answer your question?

    Try adding this to the end of the ad_network PHP script (before the closing PHP tag):
    echo '<!--- testing - ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ' --->';
    PHP:
    That will tell us at least...

    That came through with a link. Let me confirm what I am adding:
    echo '<!--- testing - ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ' --->'

    OK. I added: echo '<!--- testing - ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ' --->'

    as requested.

    Hmmm... something weird is definitely going on with it. Although it seems to be validating now again, so can't really look at it until it stops again (for whatever reason).

    OK. Do I leave that code there? Will it hurt anything?

    It won't hurt anything... go ahead and leave it there and let me know if it starts being weird again as far as validation goes.

    Look in the osCommerce back-end... I think it's under configuration. Do you have the caching enabled?

    Since this problem is back... can you tell me when my validation failed (it shows today... but, that's because it validates when I log in). Is there a way to get an email when your site fails validation?

    The system automatically emails you when it fails validation (no way to turn it off).

    Yes I do have caching enabled. Please don't tell me I have disable... I can't afford to do so.

    This problem is back... things were going so well the past 2 months.

    Once again, the problem has disappeared. After many many tries. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.
