Google Adsense is the first thing you may think of.

not much, regular forum users ignore ads. think about sticking a blog on the front end and you need affiliate products

25,000 page impression per day, per week, per month, per year? CTR for most forum is less than 1%, especially if it is mainly made up for regular members.

I run a small forum but very on niche, few members, very few as I don;t do any advertising, really I'm not advertising my forum at all and this brings me like 5 usd/month from Adsense only. (consider that the forum is really small 82 members only)

If your primary aim is to earn money then forums aren't that good a choice. You would be better off running a affiliate site or a blog, which has higher CTR.

You should try adsense for one month. I did the same but did not get the results I wanted and now I have a page sponsoring system and the advantage is that I now get paid from PayPal!

I agree with vitalous. Starting a forum can be a lot of work, and in the beginning expecting $5.00 can even be a stretch. If you are wanting to get $500.00 then you would likely need thousands upon thousands of members and that takes a LOT of work and money through promotion & advertising.

How about creating a great forum like DP (a stretch of my imagination here) then use the forum to promote a product or another web site?

Forums have very low CTR. If you want to make some good money from forms then you will need to get lot more members.

Hey there guys (gals?) with light green names. You'll do much better here at Digital Point if you actually bother to read the topics rather then just posting in them. In fact, you could do well to even just read the titles in some cases and then reply to that. In this case the title is monthly earning from a forum? not "what ad network should I use".

Even though answering the question is impossible in this instance, you all (and others) are simply way off base by not even trying to discuss the numbers.

Still I think it more depends on the subject theme of the forum. ( e.g. if your target audience is marketing guys then forget money from ads ;)). In general you need to be subscribe to some services like Google Adsense or you can also use advance ad like CPM ( Cost per Thousand ) which only big traffic website use. I think guys above suggested these as well.
