Ok...this is actually the 'sequel' to my first question raised before and I'm really glad to have received the answer...thank you Disguised.

This time, I'd like to know, is it a norm for MoneyBookers to request for deposits? and in my seller's case, she was asked to deposit into MB account not more than US$20, which she did for an amount of US$19 and then she was charged for US$2.33 for the transaction before MB can proceed to bank in the money that I sent into her bank account?

I'm confused here, as I thought that it's free to receive money...why was my seller charged? and why such an odd fee? Are they refundable? I have already sent the money via MB and the status is: Processed from my side.

Really need help and clarification from you guys. Thanks.

Yes, it is quite normal that moneybookers request you to deposit funds. But it's not that often, I got a few emails requesting to deposits funds to my MB account. So don't worry about that

You mean she uploaded funds via bank account and got charged that much fee? If so then you should check the fees (As mentioned by Tech Entrance).
If you can explain more that would be helpful, otherwise it's quite confusing

Yes, sender has to bear the fees not the receiver. So you sent her money and she got charged fees? I doubt you can get the money back as it is processed which means the person you sent money to has received the amount.

oh I'm sorry I have misunderstood what my seller told me. She emailed me again and explained further. She has received the money in MB already and would like to transfer them into her own bank account but she was asked to first withdraw and deposit an amount less than us20 into her own bank account. So, she deposited US19. For this transaction she was charged a fee of US2.33.

Now my question is: Is this a 'safety' measure practised by MB to ensure it is the rightful bank account?

After this deposit of less than US20 has gone through, can my seller proceed with depositing the rest of the amount into her bank account?

What is the fee of US2.33 for?
Will she be charged again for depositing the balance into her account?

Just in case this info might help, the amount I sent her was US45.

Thanks again...really sorry for the confusion caused :)

MB asked to deposit $20 to verify the bank account. It is done only once. The extra fees might be the charges which your bank charged for transfer and not by MB.

$20 deposite to your bank for the first time is surely a security and confirmation process by moenybookers, they sent you a code in the bank statement to use for validating the account. after validation all transactions goes normal.

It was a security measure by MB to ensure that he/she is the owner of that bank account (To prevent unauthorized use obviously) and 2.33$ would be the fee (Verification you can say).

You mean for transferring funds from her MB to Bank account? If so then yes she would be charged the fees for such transfer.

2.33$ is the fees of "Swift" transfer and this is normal because there isn't any bank that does transfers between banks for free ;)

That was not fees charged by MoneyBookers but it was charged by the Bank Account for the transfer.
You see, banks do not transfer to other banks for free...
