Is there decent money to be made in this area? I'm curious as to if I will be able to generate a few extra dollars to fund my domains / hosting by writing a few articles.

Depends a lot on what you mean by 'decent money'?

Also, depends upon how much time can you devote to article writing.

You can earn anywhere between 50 cents - $5 /100 words here.

I personally spend about 2-3 hours/day that brings me solid part-time income. There are a lot of content creation services you can provide here-

    • Original Article Writing
    • Article Rewrites
    • Blog Post
    • Forum Posting
    • Press Release
    • Academic/Term papers
    • Sales/Landing Page Copywriting

So you get the idea. There is money to be had just choose how you want to claim you share!

    Good luck,

    Hersh

I personally spend a few hours a day and I can earn a decent income each week form original article writing. I do all the work myself, while others on here are part of a team of writers. There is nothing wrong with the team approach except that you could lose the control over quality.

Knowing how to set your rate is the key. Remember that you are promising something to someone. If they are paying you that much for your work, then make sure you deliver.

But as to is there money to be made. Look at this income possibility

    1200 words per hour X $.015 per word = $18 per hour

    Working 30 hours a week X $18 per hour = $540 per week.

Now this is just writing articles. You must take into account the amount of time spent marketing your services.

This also means that you must average 3 400 words per (research and writing).

But yes you can make money.
