I don't know about you guys, but I was browsing around and I have noticed that the net is lacking alot of "create your own calender" type of deals. This would be the situation that a user uploads their own pics (and/or chooses from a gallery), and designs their calender with pictures / colors etc. The order would be made, and I would make their calender and mail it out to them. I do know of the software calender creator ( which I heard with the new version is pretty terrible), and they would be able to completely create this calender without having to pay a dime. Only when the order went in would it really matter. The neat thing about this is that the way I could set it up is that it would be a web based WYSIWYG type of deal, so the user would get a calender that looked exactly as the image they created did. I already know several investments would have to be made for this one including a very expensive printer that printed items perfect, and a bit of overhead will definately come along with this one. What are your thoughts/suggestions/ideas on this one?
I think places like Kinko's/Fedex have something similar. Are you talking about something different than http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars/info.jsp
Yeah exactly like that actually. It's pretty cool. I was thinking of going even farther with the customization, but that is the basic idea What do you think?
Most online digital photo printing services, such as Snapfish, Shutterfly and Kodak EasyShare Gallery, offer custom photo calendars. They offer a selection of photo calendar templates to choose from. Here are links: http://www.snapfish.com/gifts/product=calendar http://calendars.qarchive.org/software.html http://www.kodakgallery.co.uk/Welcome.jsp
Yeah. I figured their were several services out there with this. I guess this would be a boom or bust situation. The entire system I am thinking of would be WYSIWYG, drag and drop (images, text, titles). All with the ability to change colors, borders, styles etc to anything imaginable (within the limits of xhtml anyways haha). Anyways, I am starting to think this is another idea that I shouldn't pursue. It would be fun to do I am sure, but in the end I think it will end up as just "practice". Thoughts?
