Have you tried adsense yet?

 

The simple way out is you could use adsense. I would first put a horizontal link unit under the first search result on the search results page.

You could possible incorporate a link or ad unit to the left side of the red search box on the index area.

It looks like you are hitting a teen demographic. If your site is legal then you could probably do well with affiliate marketing. Talk to your affiliate manager and ask him to recommend a good offer. Things like "The Dumb Quiz" and others do well for teens. Comapnies like azoogle.com and rocketprofit.com

If you have a good backlinks and Page rank you can use a company like text-link-ads.com to sell links on your site.

You could seek out advertisers here on DP for text or banner ads.

You could also put some sort of CPM banner ads if you get thousands and thousands of page views. Companies like canep.com and globalinteractive.com

That would be a good start anyway, there are tons of more things you could get creative with. Again adsense is the easy way out, but its also a good place to start. Then after you are getting some income then you can explore other options too.

 

I would add it to your signature or the site in my signature,social networks and directories and you could add adsense or adbrite for revenue.

 

get writing articles, squidoo, facebooketc. Adsense, affiliate prods etc. Loyts of advice in the forum. Good luck

 

If it's aimed at teens then I would say you should sign up to Myspace and other social networking sites and building up a huge friends list, before sending bulletins advertising your site, as well as offering them free products etc.

Also, if, as the domain implies, the site is about music videos etc then it might be an idea to add sample clips to Youtube, then buy some views so you rank highly in the honours lists...

You've got it all figured out... just find where the teens hang out and not just any teens but the ones that could be regarded as your potential target audience.

Personally, I think that if he is going for the professional look, then Adsense will make his site look cheap and ruin the whole theme of the site. To monetise it, I would recommend driving traffic and getting PR to your site, and then selling links to individuals. It might be a good idea to have a single adsense block (468x15) under the search bar, as it's barely noticeable and people might click it by accident.

 

I don't care for Monetizing now to be honest .. because I'm NOT getting any traffic at first.

So, I care about promoting first.

Keep them coming, read some REALLY good ones

 

Twitter and Plurk are the latest happening tools this season. Make your presence felt, ask for reviews, make new friends and spam your site ;-)
Also buy banner spots on teen and music related forums and sites.

and I Use twitter, but how can I advertise my site with it !?

 

Plurk dot com is also a social networking tool unlike twitter.
Initially, you need to make few friends on these sites, follow their profiles and reply them on regular basis.
Once you get it going, traffic will soon climb up to your site automatically.

 

Try writing articles that relates to teens and music. Im sure there are alot of sites out there on this. Also if its music, visit some lyrics website / music forums. Im sure there you can get tons of traffic after posting some messages and also being an active member in it.

What's your budget for advertising? If you've got enough, try buying links and banners on popular sites that teen will access (celebrity etc). Also, try making valuable posts in teen forums with your link in your sig. This one will take time, but once you've been accepted in the community and are one of the higher posters then you will be recognised.

 

Totally agree... You may need to experiment with the location of your adsense block. Try http://crazyegg.com/ for that purpose. You may also add a "top" to your site - this will help you to get traffic. Make a partners page for link exchange.
