I've got a few sites and have tried a few things and they are giving a decent return. One that isn't is SteveGerrard.info. It gets about 2,500+ UV per month about 75% SE traffic and only earns around $25 from TLA and $10 from Adsense. It was making alot more from adsense but it has dropped alot the last few months (0.9% click through but alot of clicks are only 1-3c) Any ideas?
Yes... get more traffic! 2,500 uniques a month is peanuts... you can't possibly think that you can make a lot of money with that amount. You said that you gte 75% traffic right? Why don't you try to compete for more powerful keyywords? If you rank high for them, you'll be able to generate much more traffic. As for monetisization I suggest that you stick with adsense or use CPA offers
Most of the replies above are useles information, if you want to earn more money, then look into multipul income streams, sell advertising, try CPM advertising out as well, build more traffic up, traffic = money. Like stated above, go for some higher ranking keywords.
Maybe your SERP have dropped that why you get low traffic. You should add more content into your site.
I think you must optimize your website, If you use wordpress engine check your themes. is it clean? I have a friend they have 5000+ UV a day but their profit $20 from adsense, I suggest him to change and relocation their adsense ads. And now they can get $30 a day from adsense. Proper ad placement and blending the ad with contents will help you increase your ctr. With 75% of your traffic from search engines, you won't find problem in getting more clicks. 5% or more of CTR is considered good.
Just a heads up, it's breaking AdSense T&C to tell anyone the CTR Having said that, we seem to be performing about the same in terms of CTR and payout per click lol just I don't have anywhere as near as much traffic
Definitely gotta increase your traffic first. I would say stick with whatever you're using for advertising right now (TLA and AdSense), but start doing some internet marketing! Advertise on social networking, social bookmarking, blogs and blog comments... there are plenty of places to get your link out there!
