Hi Guys, I have a site at http://www.appharvester.com that gets about 30-50 views a day that is mostly from search engine traffic. I do have a facebook page and a twitter account for it. What are some other ways to bring more traffic to it? Also what ways are there to monetize it without being too overwhelming because I do want it to be a service first. Thanks.
OK here's a brief run down: Your index page is lacking text, actual text, it's just links and doesn't offer Google anything to read... Your Categories are to short and you wont get listed in the top search results in Google for any of these terms. Your listing pages also lack content - you need more images and descriptive text. Your keywords and tags are to brief and not targeted for search terms in Google. You really need to do some research in long tail search terms and implement some new and longer descriptions. You're not linking to any other relevant app's/posts within your site - you need to link to similar app's and your own relevant posts within each post. Basically your site doesn't offer enough depth, information and Goodies for Google to index your pages.
Try the usual way of monetizing it: Adsense. Nothing beats it. Use banner ads, they will mix well with your content. I agree with the poster above, you need some nice text of your site's purpose or some kind of introduction to it on the index page. Try backpage / craigslist to bring in some additional traffic.
try to get 500 words on that front page. and try to use a keyword like "app review" which gets 101,000 monthly local searches.
Focus on SEO. Write high quality content and update it on a regular basis. Incorporate good keywords and keyword phrases in your content. And keep creating more backlinks.
