how would i monetize a personal development blog? i want to write about habits, obstacles, improving life, etc. I'm not the best writer but am wiling to learn, and also won't have a problem taking action as helping people is one of my passion and changing the world is my ultimate goal. I've been studying it for months and i have a thorough understanding of a wide variety of sub-categories in personal and self development, atleast worthy of writing 20-30 posts, and by then i would've read at least 2-3 more books also, how would i bring traffic to the blog?
I think Clickbank is a good place to look for affiliate products. Later on you may want to create and sell your own product. But get the traffic and affiliate sales going first.
I actually think you can do this especially with the correct mindset. Before you go any further you need to understand that initially this isn't going to be easy, in fact it's almost going to be an effort in endurance . When you first start writing your articles you will get very few in indeed any readers . In fact my personal advice would be to write two absolutely top quality articles per week and then market them all over the place . So I mean Facebook , Twitter , Google plus and anywhere else you can get traffic to them . Ensure you have an email list available and a free gift to entice people onto your list . Very few people will buy anything from you on your their first visit. You need to build up trust and that can take time . If however you have their email address you can market to them over time whilst of course sending them content of value direct to their inbox . Please please do not send them a different product for sale every day , you will never succeed if you burn through your hard fought subscribers that quickly. Then as mentioned above look at clickbank for your digital products. I would also be willing to bet that they will be many many more places for you to find products to sell . Also personally I would either ask the vendor for a copy or buy one yourself before you try and promote something to your list . If you do not write well, you cannot possibly write copy to convert any visitor into sales. I would simply go with adsense which would make you far more money as people will undoubtedly want to move on to something more substantive.
Personal development is a good niche to dabble into and monetizing your blog shouldn't be that difficult too. You can monetize your blog with Google adsense with keyword rich content that will get you free organic traffic or alternatively use Clickbank whichever one you decide.
