Monetizing a moderate traffic web site - expectations?

I'm considering monetizing a site in our network through advertising and moving away from it's current revenue model, which is sales. The thing is, I have no history to go by, and wanted to ask what my expectations could/should be.

The site currently averages 16,000-20,000 page views from 4500-5000 unique visitors daily. The site appeals to say 12-28 age group. With that information, can anyone offer a general expectation of what I could expect through monetizing the site through advertising? Particularly, a hands-off program like adsense.

Keep in mind, I'll want to keep the advertising reasonably whitehat - no pop-unders/pop-overs, or other spammy type stuff.

With those #s, you might be able to generate some substantial revenue with Adsense or YPN. It depends on the subject(s) of the site, how much advertisers are willing to pay, and how saturated the market is. We'd need a URL to really give you a good idea.

I am thinking it is probably a gaming site... Wouldn't it be cool if I was right :)

with a simple block of adsense ads, probably $3k+

If you take advantage of adbrite, chitika and a few well chosen affiliate programs, you could get over $20k... but it's not gonna be "hands-off".

but it could also be $200... that's the bad part about our industry, it's unpredictable. :)
