Hello ! I haven't yet finished it, but it will be a maths website with lots of corrected quality exercises ( including some problems from maths olympiades for those who love them ) freely, I already wrote them in paper . It will also contain full lessons . But I was asking myself if it would be possible to monetize it with AdSense so that I can pay for the hosting and, why not, help me a little to pay my studies . Concerning the traffic, I'm expecting to get some good one because sites in that theme are rare ( most corrected quality exercices are available for money in books ), and I have already some people who will be ready to spread the word ( collegues and friends at university ) . I also plan to do some SEO because I already have some experience with it . My question is : Will AdSense be able to monetize that niche ( maths ) ? If not, what do you suggest me ? Thanks !
You'll get ads for other people's math worksheet sites and they don't pay very well. I used to have a separate channel for my math subcomponent of one of my sites and took it off because it was earning < $5 a month. If you have a massive site and market it well and get a few 10,000 visitors a day you might be able to make some good money, but there's a fair bit of competition out there.
I don't see you having any problem monetizing the website, their are tons of educational institutions that advertise on Adsense.
You gotta confirm that your site is NOT "Sales or distribution of coursework or student essays", then it will be fine
Thank you all for your replies ! That's pretty interesting, can you or someone else define what is meant by Google with "coursework or student essays" ? I found something about that by searching, and, if I'm not mistaken, it has something to do with giving work which is ready to give to the teacher, which is considered cheating and against education ( because in that case the student doesn't put any effort, and the concerned website helps him continuing like that ) . If it's that, then my project has nothing to do with that . Oh and I forgot to mention it, my exercices and lessons are targeting undergraduate students who normally don't have the childish behavior I talked about . I appreciate also the fact that RumpledElf shared his own experience . Does someone else have AdSense on a maths or physics ( or any scientific and academical site ) ? Finally, as my visitors will obviously be people interested in mathematics, I can also present some classics in math litterature with Amazon Affiliates program . What do you think ?
