It is a bit soon to say other methods would work, but another way which needs you to be more involved rather than just writing is to add reviews to your website. If you are writing for Fitness does it mean you are a professional or you are just enthusiast. Also about the theme, search for it online and use uncle Google. It is much better thn asking questions here.
Yup, Adsense will be good but do not look for other options. Look for traffic. Google is always here to help but just do not read and do things you have read. You gotta use your brains always.
