Monetize a social bookmarking site

    I purchased a social bookmarking site a few months ago and have not really done anything with it. It is a year old and just recently started ranking really well with yahoo and bing. Not ranking with google yet

    What would be a good way to monetize it? it has some adsense ads but that is it

    You could try selling some banner ads/text links or making a "Premium" option which would give users better benefits for a small fee.

    If it's getting good targeted traffic + it's generating you revenue as of now with the Adsense ads etc then there's one of either two things you could consider doing.
    1. You could just sell it for a 12 month revenue estimation. For example if it makes you about $1,000 per month then you could consider selling it for $10,000-$12,000.
    2. Try applying to reknown ad networks as a publisher where you'll be publishing advertiser's ads and earning money on clicks or on a CPM basis etc.
    Whichever one you like the most. :)

    Try making and selling a product (e.g. ebook ,software) you have also.
