Mojo Marketplace powered Quick Install via Cpanel

Anyone on HostGator seen the new Quick Install interface "now powered by Mojo Marketplace?"

For one who hates change, I am not a fan..yet.
I am still adjusting after HG retired Fantastico De Luxe.

Who likes it?
Who hates it?
Any other hosting companies running this new interface?

 

No other hosting companies are running the QuickInstall interface as Quick Install is proprietary software created by HostGator. We're using Softaculous, which we think is much better and doesn't have any "powered by mojo marketplace" branding on it. Softaculous is also able to install 300+ scripts, a feat unlikely attained by QuickInstall

Don't get nostalgic about Fantastico - it has lived its life and the last couple of years it was just prolonging the agony before its put to sleep. Old, obsolete, undeveloped software, Softaculous logically took its place and now most hosts use it because its stuffed with a wide range of softwares and is really a breeze to use. Not sure how it compares to HG's quick install but knowing how they mostly operate I am pretty sure Softaculous would still crush it

 

This it totally right! Fantastico is old software that is out of date and does not even work with newer versions of cPanel. By running it as a web host, you'd be putting your customers at risk because it installs older exploited versions of software like WordPress. Fantastico was a really great concept, but it has long been superseded by Softaculous

 

I originally learned using Fantastico back in 2009.

I loved it because I never really had anything to compare it to.

Kind of like my first car, it filled my needs no matter how ugly and outdated it was

 

Mojo Marketplace is an Endurance International Group product ( http://www.mojo-themes.com/2013/04/we-have-been-acquired/ ) that has been integrated into other EIG hosting brands like BlueHost, HostMonster and now HostGator.

 

So basically Host Gator and Mojo Marketplace are owned by the same company?

I always assumed it was a joint venture

5 or so years ago, I would never shut up about how awesome Host Gator was.

Over the past year or so, they have gone downhill dramatically.

Now I know why...
