    may be it can effect your SERPs but gradually everything will be fixed up. but it is not necessary that it hurts your current SERPs. If your site has a good reputation in SE than it is also possible u improve in SERPs also..

    That change will not drastically affect SERP. And for sure not that fast. It must be coincidental.

    Yes, there will be some changes in your SERP's. But just changing one word will not effect much.
