Modifying and selling GPL software ?

    I see modified GPL open source software everywhere. everyone wants a custom OScommerce/Joomla and such with different modifications to suit the purpose they want to use the software for.

    Are we allowed to sell the modified version of GPL open source software ?

    I don't think so, it seems to me that you have the right to modify the source code but it must be redistributed under the GPL.
