modifying adsense custom search button and watermark

    Is modifying the search button and watermark against the Adsense terms of service?

    If so, what are the chances having your adsense account shut down and earnings confiscated because of it?

    Well I did it in the past (for several years) and never had any problem, but I cannot guarantee anything for you. Also I've stopped doing that by myself since it didn't bring me any advantages.
