Modern Day "Snake Oil" Salesmen

I am wondering if anyone here feels like alot of todays affiliate marketers are the modern day version of a "Snake Oil" salesmen? I bought one SEO product from Brad Callen, and now I get CONSTANT emails from these other "Guru" guys that are offering the next best thing and promising huge profits. I feel like they are really making the money off the crap product and not off what they are trying to teach in the books. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I always thought of most ebook sellers as snake oil salesmen. There are exceptions though, such as www.seobook.com.

I think the best approach is to read up on the net and try different techniques you come across and jkeep the ones that work.

To actually purchase a book on this topic would be a waste of money :D

Ebooks are for slackers. DigitalPoint FTW. :)

Definitely a snake oil trade, though. Ebooks are ghey.

I wouldn't do that, you'll see that they've got some kind of copyright on they're books...
