I know there's a lot of threads asking about hyphens in domain names.
I've had a look at them, but it seems I'll be better off asking for advice in my specific case.

    Say I have a domain for a person. I registered both "firstname-lastname.com" and "firstnamelastname.com".

I want to redirect one of the domains and build a site on the other one.
Which of the domains do you suggest I should build the site on?
My goal is to rank high in the search engines and get search engine traffic.

no matter what you do if you are using names its not much of difference if you use hyphens or not if your using keyword i would suggest using non hyphens for better ranking. but in your case its not imp then also i will tell you you should go for non-hyphens i have started a new site for more seo tips you can check here makemoneyonlineeasily.us.to

Redirect the hyphen containing domain to the one without hyphen and build your website there. Hyphen is only useful when there is no other choice. Everything else (of SEO) depends on the Title of the website. There is not so much difference but Search Engines give a little bit priority to ones without hyphen. ( as they are generally registered first than hypen ones while hyphen ones are generally registered only to take advantage of the traffic of original one without hyphen. Still I say there is not a very much of difference.)
