mod_rewrite help

    Do shared hosting allow it?
    and im trying to install WORDPRESS MU. but it keeps saying "No WPMU site defined on this host. If you are the owner of this site, please check Debugging WPMU for further assistance."
    Help much appreciated,

    mod_rewrite should work in shared hosting environment ... Maybe you like to check with your webhost?

    Yup, If you have apache with .htaccess, you should most likely have the abililty to use ModRewrite.

    Just a heads up, you may or may not see the .htaccess file when you login to your shared host via FTP

    Best bet is to make an "htaccess.txt" and upload that, rename to ".htaccess" once it is on the server, as Windows does not allow you to name files ".htaccess"
